Lux Helsinki was arranged at the beginning of January. Part of Lux Helsinki was 360 by Fire Circus Walkea fire art performance by Studio “Fire circle”. The performers were Jovita Aukštakalnytė, Kita Aušra, Krasauskaitė Aistė and Ugnė Motekūnaitė. Choreography was done by Antti Suniala.

The Professional Make-up Artists of Finland arranged Finnish Body Painting Championships (Body Paintingin SM-Kisat) at I love me event on 12.10.2013. The theme of the body painting competition was “renaissance of colours” (“värien renessanssi”). I took these photos during the painting, before the award ceremony, and during the award ceremony.

Marja Kurki has opened a a new shop in Helsinki, and to celebrate the new shop they arranged a fashion show in the Esplanade park on last Wednesday (21.8.2013). Here is a small gallery from the show.

Link to Finnish National Ballet on Summer Tour 2013 gallery
Finnish National Ballet performed last week on Kasarmintori square in Helsinki. This performance was part of their summer tour around Finland. This was a second year when Finnish National Ballet made a summer tour. You can see photos from last year performance here.
The programme was a mix of classical ballet and contemporary dance. The productions were: A Brief Case, Buttery Tempo Mental Weather, Collection of Endings, Don Quijote, Photo Soup, La Banda Sonora, Seven Brothers, Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, White Glow.

Big Band Park Marathon was arranged at Espan lava on last Saturday (25.5.2013). I was hired to photograph the Arricone Big Band.
Arricone Big Band presents a brand new collaboration amongst the top Finnish jazz musicians, led by arranger/conductor Erno Tiittanen. Together with vocalist Reija Lang they have created fresh big band flavours tributing the legendary Wilson/Adderley album (1961). Some songs from Reija Lang and Arricone Big Band can be listened at Hub Productions.

Marimekko arranged their annual summer fashion show in the Esplanade Park on last Friday (24.5.2013). This year, like last year, all the models of the show were dancers from the Finnish National Ballet and its Ballet School.
Choreography was done by Johanna Nuutinen, and music by Matti Ahopelto. Dancers were: Sari Ikonen, Tiina Myllymäki, Charlotte Schauman, Mai Komori, Kailey Kaba, Anna Konkari, Sofia Winqvist, Olga Leppäjärvi, Millis Faust, Claire Voss, Anna Sariola, Sara Saviola , Terhi Räsänen, Linda Haakana, Edita Raušerová, Eemu Äikiö, Aapo Siikala, Johan Pakkanen. Choreography for the ballet school students was done by Bine Vesterinen.

Kamppi shopping center arranged “spring opening event” on 12.4.2013. In addition to fashion shows and various musicians, also Circus Lumica had circus performance there. The five stories high lobby was perfect place for this circus performance!

Miss Helsinki 2013 Final was arranged on 31.1.2013 in Apollo Live Club. Kelly Kalonji is new Miss Helsinki, Leina Ogihara is 1st runner-up, and Iina Immonen 2nd runner-up. Congratulations to them!

I have added a new gallery from the New Year 2013 celebrations at Helsinki City Senate Square. The event was hosted by Sanna Stellan ja Sami Hedberg. Bolly Beat Dancers, Danny’s Bollywood Dance Crew (DBDC), Johanna Försti, Osmo Ikonen and Michael Monroe performed at New Year’s party. After the midnight there was also fireworks.
