Tango, El Hurácan / Link to Finnish National Ballet on summer tour 2014 gallery

Finnish National Ballet performed on 29.5.2014 at Kansalaistori square in Helsinki. This performance was part of their summer tour around Finland. This was a third year when Finnish National Ballet made a summer tour. You can see my photos in Finnish National Ballet on Summer Tour 2014 gallery.

The programme was a mix of classical ballet and contemporary dance. The productions were: Don Quijote, Day 351, Snow Queen, Highland O, Tango, El Hurácan and Happy.

Finnish National Ballet performed last week on Kasarmintori square in Helsinki. This performance was part of their summer tour around Finland. This was a second year when Finnish National Ballet made a summer tour. You can see photos from last year performance here.

The programme was a mix of classical ballet and contemporary dance. The productions were: A Brief Case, Buttery Tempo Mental Weather, Collection of Endings, Don Quijote, Photo Soup, La Banda Sonora, Seven Brothers, Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, White Glow.

Marimekko arranged their annual summer fashion show in the Esplanade Park on last Friday (24.5.2013). This year, like last year, all the models of the show were dancers from the Finnish National Ballet and its Ballet School.

Choreography was done by Johanna Nuutinen, and music by Matti Ahopelto. Dancers were: Sari Ikonen, Tiina Myllymäki, Charlotte Schauman, Mai Komori, Kailey Kaba, Anna Konkari, Sofia Winqvist, Olga Leppäjärvi, Millis Faust, Claire Voss, Anna Sariola, Sara Saviola , Terhi Räsänen, Linda Haakana, Edita Raušerová, Eemu Äikiö, Aapo Siikala, Johan Pakkanen. Choreography for the ballet school students was done by Bine Vesterinen.

The Russian ballet stars visited Lahti during this weekend. They had a spectacular gala concert on Friday and Saturday (31.8. and 1.9.2012) in the Sibelius Concert Hall 🙂 The artistic director was Alexey Fadeechev. The dancers were from the famous Russian theatres: the Bolshoi (Moscow), the Marinsky and Mikhailovsky (St Petersburg).

I visited yesterday in Helsinki Underground Art event in Kaapelitehdas. There was art exhibition with 25 artists, live painting and arts&crafts sale. I photographed the Wannabe Ballerinas and the robot sculptures made by JJJanne (I could not find website for JJJanne).

Last Sunday Pieni Suomalainen Balettiseurue arranged performance called “2 x 2 – Tanssia toukokuun taivaalle” in The Senate Square in Helsinki. This performance consisted of six short acts, together they lasted about half an hour.
