ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2017 were arranged in Helsinki on 29.3.-2.4.2017. I visited also Exhibition of Champions on Sunday. The show was superb 🙂 And also very popular with the photographers, I calculated 37 (!) accredited photographers on the other side of arena. ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2017 are arranged in Helsinki on 29.3.-2.4.2017. I visited The opening show on Wednesday evening. I like to photograph skating shows more than the actual skating competitions, as lights are more dramatic, and backgrounds are dark or black 🙂 But unfortunately this dim and varying lightning means that photography is also much more difficult…. The World Gymnaestrada 2015 was held in Helsinki on 12.-18.7.2015.  It was the largest event ever held in Finland in terms of number of participants, over 20,000 gymnasts and gymnastics enthusiasts participated it. Synchronized skating team Rockettes performed their short and free programs in Helsinki on 29.3.2014 before leaving to World Synchronized Skating Championships in Italy. Rockettes won bronze medal with these programs 🙂 Congratulations to them!

Viapori Trophy Race (Viaporin Tuoppi) is the biggest sailing competition for wooden sailing boats in the Nordic countries. There were more than twenty classes and around 200 boats in the race. Viapori Trophy Race was sailed around the Suomenlinna sea fortress and Pihlajasaari. I photographed this race from small motor boat. Currently this gallery contains 32 photos, but I will add more photos later.

These images are for sale, so if you want to buy some prints or digital files, please contact me! As these photos were photographed from a moving boat the available maximum print size varies (but typically the maximum available inkjet and acrylic print size will 30×40 … 50-70 cm, canvas prints can be larger).

The Opening Ceremony of the European Athletics Championships 2012 was arranged at the Senate Square on 26.6.2012. The ceremony ended with a show entitled “Sports if Play“. The director of the show was Kari Heiskanen and the choreographer was Reija Wäre. Leading roles were played by Maria Ylipää and Janne Marja-aho.
